Dive Provo caters to experienced divers as well as novice divers and dive students. Owned and operated by Alan and Clare Jardine, both with over 35 years of dive industry experience, Dive Provo is dedicated to providing guests with convenient and trouble-free diving. Complimentary pick-ups are offered from Grace Bay and Long Bay resorts and from pick-up to drop off the staff do their best to make sure you have a good time. 2-Tank Discover Scuba Diving Course

Description:

Discover Scuba Diving, also known as the Resort Course, is a great way to try scuba diving. (No need to invest time studying just to find out diving is not for you.) For many people, this Course is the highlight of their vacation. Consequently, they go on to become certified and avid scuba divers. Let’s face it, what better place to try diving!

For a truly personalized experience, Dive Provo only allows a maximum ratio of 2 students per instructor during the open water dives.  Similarly, we do not just one, but two dives, as part of the experience.

Not to worry if you are traveling with certified family members or friends. When it comes time for the 2-tank boat dive, you can all dive from the same boat. During the dive itself, it will be one on one with your instructor. However, your companions can follow along as part of a buddy team or join the certified diver group.

Prerequisites:

To sign up for Dive Provo’s standard PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, you must be at least 15 years old.

For children 10 – 14, or anyone wishing to have the two-tank Discover Scuba Diving course taught one-on-one, the course cost is $598.00 USD. Please contact us for details.

No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary. You do, however, need to be in reasonable physical health.

All students must read the PADI Discover Scuba® Diving Participant Statement and complete a PADI Medical Statement prior to participating in any course.

Should any of the medical history items noted on the Statement apply to you, you will need to consult with a physician, who will provide written permission, prior to participating in scuba diving. So please be sure to download and review this statement in advance.

Itinerary:

Day One: Meet with your instructor in the afternoon for a brief lecture going over basic Do’s and Dont’s and then practicing skills in the swimming pool. This generally takes a couple of hours.

Day Two: The next morning, you go out on the regular boat dive trip. You will make 2 dives to a maximum depth of 40 ft under the supervision of your instructor.

You will:

• Go over the scuba equipment you use to dive.
• Learn how easy it is to move around underwater with your gear.
• Find out what it’s like to breathe underwater.
• Learn key skills that you’ll use during every scuba dive.
• Have fun swimming around and exploring.

If you enjoyed the dives, you can take additional dives a second day for $249.00 or apply parts of the course toward an Open Water Diver Certification course!
